SUMMARY:Andrew White\, in Whitianga!
DESCRIPTION:Andrew White is a troubadour. He is one of those rare artists who can skillfully combine brilliant finger-style guitar work with a compelling story in lyric and deliver them both in an engaging live performance. After a well-deserved break from the rigours of international touring\, Andrew returns to the stage showcasing material from his new studio album ‘Beautiful Trouble’ – his sixteenth album to date – his forthcoming solo album\, ‘Specs of Gold’\, and his first two children’s books -‘Dingle the Dolphin\,’ and ‘The Whitianga Fairy.’\nSome past notable performances include international tours and collaborations with artists:The Corrs\, Michelle Shocked\, Clannad\, John Martyn\, Janis Ian\, Mary Black\, Capercaillie\, Eddie Reader\, The Indigo Girls\, Taj Mahal\, The Strawbs\, John Renbourn\, Roy Harper\, Seals and Crofts\, Tommy Emmanuel\, Juan Martin\, Ottmar Liebert\, Andy McKee\, and others.\nAndrew’s music has been described as a road map of the experiences of a musical life coupled with guitar technique that has left thousands of people breathless. While technically brilliant\, his guitar work is not just out to impress – it has a pleasing\, highly melodic structure. Andrew White is one of the few who combine international class guitar playing with skilfully crafted and beautiful songs. A humble and gifted musician\, Andrew’s music will take you on a spiritual journey over the mountains and rivers of his soul.\nWhat others say…“Andrew is a gifted magical writer\, listen to him with your heart.”- Tommy Emmanuel C.G.P.“White’s style is a unique\, soulful mix\, and his guitar playing is extraordinary.” -Rambles Art Magazine\, U.K.‘Beautifully constructed guitar compositions that will not only inspire other musicians but also embrace the general listener in a warm glow…an aural palate you would associate with a Van Gogh.’- Fyfe on Folk\, UK\nLocal support TBC.
