We are Guthrie Bowron Whitianga – trusted specialists selling Paint, Wallpaper, Curtains, Blinds and Flooring including tiles. We are an award winning, locally owned GB Store with a stunning showroom, a great team and lots of energy and vision.

We place a high focus on building a strong team culture & we aim to create the right feel for our team as well as our customers.  Many of our team have been with us for years and finding the right ‘fit’ with the team is key for both parties.

We support our community and each other and one of the best bits of what we do is helping our clients to achieve amazing results with their decorating projects large or small.

ROLE:

  • This is the perfect opportunity to manage an awesome team of people, whilst working closely with the business owner and operations manager as part of the management team.
  • You will be managing and supporting a sales team of twelve providing motivation and coaching.
  • You will be required to learn the basics in all categories to be able to give your best support. Training will be provided in all categories.
  • You will oversee the general sales & customer service of our showroom, handle general enquiries and navigate customer service resolutions.
  • Carrying out sales of home décor items like rugs, cushions, mirrors etc. is part of the job as well as maintaining the curtain installers booking calendar.
  • In collaboration with the rest of management, you will help with H/R and recruitment and join a commitment to achieving a great work environment, successful team and happy customers.
  • The is a permanent full time with some rostered Saturdays.

EXPERIENCE:

  • As a leadership role we are looking for previous management experience particularly in a retail customer service focused setting.
  • We will want to understand your management style and how you lead your team to be fully committed to creating great customer services and to support each other.
  • You will require good verbal and written communication skills and be confidently computer literate.
  • Decision making will come to you with ease as well as a natural, comfortable connection with a variety of personalities.
  • A person who has a passion for interiors, design or colour or has experience in similar industries will be valued.
