Inspired by the Coromandel landscape and the region’s culture, wanting to create gins which embodied the surroundings, along with the traditional botanicals.
This meant using local ingredients was a prerequisite. These include citrus produce – Lemons, Limes, Grapefruit, Kafir Lime and Oranges – but also Seaweed, Pohutukawa, Clover, Pine, Kanuka, Manuka and Honey from local hives.
Mixed with pure water sourced from a local spring, this blend creates gins with unique, distinctive flavours – that conveys the ‘essence’ of the Coromandel. Old Mate gins are a true ‘product of the land’.
